Thank you for your interest in offering a workshop at our NJ Jr. Virtual Thes Fest.
I'm Veda Rouze, the NJ Junior Thespian Coordinator, and NJ Junior Thespians are currently seeking workshop presenters to offer livestream workshops from our IG Live and Youtube throughout the day on May 16, 2020.
Due to Covid-19, like many non-profit theatre organizations, we had to rethink our plans for our in-person 2020 festival. We decided to offer a way for students to still celebrate theatre from their own living rooms by offering a free virtual mini festival online for our participants. Attached is information about our organization, logistics for our virtual offering, and the types of workshop presenters we need.

ABOUT US:
New Jersey Junior Thespians is a non-profit organization. It is a chapter of the Educational Theatre Association which sponsors the International Thespian Society (ITS). It is our mission to promote, strengthen, and advocate for theatre arts education in New Jersey middle schools. We offer a community for middle school theatre educators and student Thespians to learn, share, and celebrate theatre. Our staff and board members are all volunteers; comprised of theatre educators and artists.
workshops WE ARE SEEKING:
We are seeking simple and fun theatre vocal, acting, and dance workshops that are approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour long targeted toward middle school students (Grades 6-8/Ages 11-14). Our virtual offering will be from 10 AM EDT and 3:30 PM EDT on May 16, 2020. Our workshops will be livestreamed on IG Live and Youtube, so you will not see your participant's videos directly, but you will be able to interact via chat if needed. Workshops are planned to be livestreamed via our handles on Youtube and IG Live.
workshop presenter benefits:
We are able to provide a small stipend to our volunteer presenters of $30, and we will also include advertisements/links for your business or personal workshops on our social media platforms and website. We understand that this isn't nearly enough for what you do as a theatre artist/company, but since this a free offering for students our budget is very small. If you have the means and time to offer a workshop for our virtual offering, we would love to have you as a presenter.
Students will take various workshops throughout the day of our Virtual Offering. They will learn different aspects of theatre, and gain a well-rounded theatre education, while having fun and connecting to other Thespians from the comfort of their own living rooms!
